Suitable for seasoned cyclists in search of a challenge and families out to enjoy a day together. Katharine's story is typical of the experience...
"None of us had done anything like this before, I myself am a complete biking novice, having only recently acquired my first adult bike, so training's not only been a matter of fitness but also a fast learning curve. Training has involved everything from spinning classes to braving the Oxford roads and cycling to work, but even with that practice 60 miles still seemed like an impossible feat. However all of us are local, both working and living in the area, so it was not only something special to support such a amazing cause, but also a local one. Although the day started off grey, spirits were high. It was nice to see that all sorts of people turned up for the bike ride, and nice to hear about the specific projects that the money we raised was going towards. The route was gorgeous, and having only just moved to the area, it was a fantastic way to see some of the beautiful surrounding Oxfordshire towns and villages. The scenery also proved as a much needed distraction from some of the hills we met on route, but I was proud to have done everyone! There was terrific atmosphere at the finish line, and we even had our very own welcome party to cheers us on for the last part. Everyone that crossed the finish had gone through their own challenge to get there and all had their own reason for taking such a challenge on. Although I'm having a break from the bike at the moment, it's definitely something I'll do again. So far the team and I have raised almost £1,000 for Against Breast Cancer (and the total's still rising!) so it was all worth it in the end."
