Baljit, getting ready for his 60 mile ride

We’d like to extend our massive thanks to everyone who took part in the Classic Oxfordshire Bike Ride this year. Over 800 cyclists braved the traditional bank holiday weekend weather of rain, wind and even sunshine to raise vital funds for breast cancer research.

A fantastic team of charity staff and volunteers together with organisers Bike Events were on hand throughout the day, keeping smiles on the faces of the riders and providing running repairs to anyone in need. The hot food, cold beer and live music certainly seemed to go down well at the end of the day!

This year we had something in particular to celebrate, Baljit the Director at the Hedgegrail Pharmacy in Stoke Poges and his son Jaskaran each cycled the 60 mile route across Southern Oxfordshire raising over £500 in the process.

Amongst his many sponsors, Baljit received the £1 millionth pound Against Breast Cancer has received via the online fundraising site JustGiving.

This fantastic website has established itself as an essential part of the fundraisers toolkit. For over 10 years it has enabled our supporters to quickly and more easily generate the funds required allowing us to continue our breast cancer research.

We’re really looking forward reaching our next fundraising milestone, why not get involved and help us to achieve it!
