Of Corsets conquer Snowdonia

Looking good on Snowdon!

When Kirsty announced her intention to trek to the summit of Mount Snowdon to raise vital funds for our research, we were delighted. We first met Kirsty through our bra bank recycling scheme which has proven ever popular with her customers at Curvature Boutique in Leigh on Sea to whom she offers a 5% discount on new bras when they donate their old.

A keen hiker, having previously completed the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards and the Queen Scouts Award, Kirsty decided to hike for a cause close to her heart.

However, the corset loving Essex girl knew sponsorship would be easier to find if she put her own individual twist on the challenge. So she decided she would walk to the 1085 metre-high summit of Mount Snowdon in her underwear!

Her suppliers rallied round and donated her ‘trekking kit’ for the event and by holding a pamper evening for friends and customers, she soon found that she had smashed her fundraising target of £1000!

Kirsty successfully scaled the mountain wearing just a corset, suspenders and walking boots, no doubt turning hundreds of heads along the way!

She shared her success on Facebook when, she posted a picture of herself at the top of the mountain with the caption: “Forgot about my dislike for heights, but completed my quest. Made it to the top of Snowdon, in my corset. Still time to donate.

A massive well done Kirsty, we hope you agree that Snowdon never looked so good!
