Trek Costa Rica pushes your boundaries with a tough trek through tropical landscapes in the Central American country.
This challenges goes through mountain passes, coffee plantations, waterfalls and cloud forest on the way to the top of Cerro Frio, 3,492 meters high, from where you can enjoy the awesome views of the lush landscapes of Costa Rica.
You’ll also have a free day to explore Manuel Antonio Beach, home to monkeys, sloths, iguanas and more. A spectacular end to an awesome challenge.
Trek Costa Rica Itinerary
Day 1 – Depart the UK for Costa Rica.
Day 2 – Pacific Coast to Tierras Morenas: Trek from the Pacific coast along a 4×4 track, climbing into the mountains before dropping into the river valley. Trekking distance – 18km approx. / 5 – 7 hours.
Day 3 – Tierras Morenas to Bajo Savegre: After climbing out of the valley, you will have incredible views of the Pacific coastline and endless mountain rangers before heading to the flair of Savegre. Trekking distance – 17km approx. / 6 – 8 hours.
Day 4 – Bajo Savegre to Angeles: Tough trekking begins with an ascent through coffee plantations high above the Division River, with some spectacular vistas before descending into Angeles. Trekking distance – 22km approx. / 8 – 10 hours.
Day 5 – Angeles to San Gerardo: The most challenging day of your trek, along a steep coffee road which gives way to a trail through the cloud forest and muddy trails over 2,300m high. Trekking distance – 23km approx. / 10 – 12 hours.
Day 6 – San Gerardo to Cerro Frio: The steepest climb of the trek as you reach the top of Cerro Frio, worth it for the sights of tropical birds and views of the Pacific slopes. Trekking distance – 14km approx. / 5 – 7 hours.
Day 7 – Free day at Manuel Antonio Beach.
Day 8 – Depart Costa Rica.
Day 9 – Arrive back in the UK.

- Option A: Registration fee £299 + Minimum sponsorship £4,850.
- Option B: Registration fee £299 + Self-funding £2,425 + raise as much sponsorship as you can.
