England’s greatest river provides a fantastic backdrop for the Thames Path Ultra Challenge, which you can take on at your pace as a walk, jog, or run – and fundraise for Against Breast Cancer’s groundbreaking research into secondary spread breast cancer!
Over 3,000 adventurers will gather at Putney Bridge to begin this iconic challenge. The full 100km route follows the Thames Path and heads upstream to Henley. As a result, it has become one of the most popular long‑distance charity events in the UK.
The trail takes you through some of the most scenic parts of West London and Surrey. You will pass Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede and Windsor. Each section offers peaceful towpaths, open green spaces and historic views. Additionally, the terrain is varied but gentle, making it suitable for both experienced trekkers and first‑time walkers.
As you follow the famous riverside path, you can expect clear route markers and excellent support. Furthermore, regular rest stops help keep you motivated throughout the challenge. The atmosphere is friendly and encouraging, and many walkers and runners complete the route at their own pace. Because of this, the event is ideal for anyone looking to improve their fitness or raise money for a cause they care about.
Eventually, the route brings you to Henley and a beautiful riverside finish. It is the perfect place to celebrate your achievement. Completing the 100km Thames Path route is a major milestone and, ultimately, an experience you will always remember.
