Donor Advised Funds
We are delighted to accept donations through Donor Advised Funds, offering our supporters a flexible and tax-efficient way to fund pioneering breast cancer research.
Through a Donor Advised Fund, you can consolidate your charitable giving in one place, support the causes you care about with confidence, and plan your philanthropy with purpose.
Whether giving personally, as a family, or through your company, Donor Advised Funds can help you unlock greater impact in the fight against breast cancer.
What are Donor Advised Funds?
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account used solely to support charitable causes.
Individuals, families or organisations can contribute cash, shares, or other assets into their DAF account and then recommend grants to charities over time. This enables impactful, strategic and tax-efficient philanthropy.
By recommending a grant to Against Breast Cancer through your DAF, you can accelerate life-saving research into secondary spread, the main cause of breast cancer-related deaths. Help develop early careers researchers performing innovative research, or support challenging long term projects creating tomorrow’s treatments against breast cancer. Through your DAF, you can manage your giving in a way that suits you.
How Do Donor Advised Funds Work?
Contribution
You contribute assets (cash, securities, or other property) into your DAF, which is administered by a DAF provider.
Tax Benefits
You may receive income or capital gains tax relief on eligible gifts. Funds can grow tax-free within the DAF, potentially increasing the amount available for charitable giving. Legacy gifts to DAFs are typically exempt from inheritance tax too.
Recommendations
You recommend grants to charities of your choice. The DAF provider carries out due diligence and ensures the charity meets HMRC requirements.
Investment Growth
Funds within the DAF can be invested, with any growth usually tax-free, helping maximise your long-term charitable impact.
Why Give Through a DAF?
Donating via a DAF enables effective, impactful philanthropy. There is no start up time – or costs. Your privacy will be respected, if preferred donations can be made anonymously.
Give Flexibly
Give cash or assets. Give now or later. Make one significant gift or distribute smaller grants over time.
Tax-Efficient Giving
- Reclaim Gift Aid on eligible cash gifts
- Potential income and capital gains tax relief
- Legacy gifts to DAFs are exempt from inheritance tax
Less Administration
Governance, reporting, and compliance are managed by your DAF provider.
Give Anonymously
DAFs make it easy to support research while maintaining privacy.
Charitable Estates
A DAF can form part of your long-term estate planning, ensuring your commitment to advancing breast cancer research can continue for the benefit of future generations.
