Join the South Coast Ultra Challenge. The South Downs National Park is a superb backdrop for 2000 adventurers to take on a real challenge. Take it on at your pace as a walk, jog, or run, and fundraise for Against Breast Cancer’s groundbreaking research into secondary spread breast cancer!
Your journey begins in Eastbourne, where you start by climbing toward the iconic cliffs of Beachy Head. From here, the scenery quickly becomes spectacular. As you continue along the coastline, you cross the magnificent Seven Sisters, a series of dramatic chalk cliffs that rise and fall in sweeping curves along the English Channel. Soon after, the trail joins the South Downs Way, offering wide‑open landscapes and constant sea views as you make your way toward Brighton.
After Brighton, the route becomes more varied. You’ll take on steady climbs and descents that test your stamina. However, each effort rewards you with wide, panoramic views. One major highlight is Devil’s Dyke, a deep, steep‑sided valley filled with history and natural beauty. The surrounding countryside stretches for miles, making this one of the most memorable parts of the trek.
As you continue west along the ridgeline, the landscape shifts once again. Open downs gradually give way to quieter, more wooded paths. Eventually, the historic town of Arundel comes into view, with its impressive castle rising above the trees. This final sight marks the end of an incredible 100 km journey.
