Meg and Aimee have raised an amazing £1,301.18 to as part of their fundraising for the Cardiff Half Marathon. They held a coffee and cake-style event, with a singer and a raffle. They had help from many family members, including Meg’s sister Beth, Mum Tammy, Dad Ian, Beth’s partner Matty, Meg’s partner Matt and Aimee’s partner Curt.
The event took place on the 6th of September at The Tipsy Kat in Hereford. The venue was beautifully decorated with bunting, balloons, and banners. Over 1000 raffle tickets were sold, more than 90 cakes donated, over 25 raffle prizes (kindly donated by local businesses) and more than 100 people attended. It was a wonderful day, with lots of fun, many coffees and cakes consumed and a great community spirit.
Meg said, “This cause has deep personal meaning for us all. Our mum, Tammy – was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2024. Since her diagnosis, she has shown incredible bravery while undergoing chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. Supporting this charity is a way of honouring her experience while helping fund vital research, awareness, and support that could protect and improve the lives of others facing the same battle.
“Thanks to the generosity of supporters, over £1,300 was raised through raffle and cake donations alone. This charity event showed true community spirit, with the kindness of raffle prize donors and cake bakers helping to make it such a success.
“This event is a way for us to stand with Tammy and others affected by breast cancer — and indeed all forms of cancer”
We want to extend a huge thank you to Meg, Aimee and everyone who attended and gave so generously!
