With determination and spirit, Katie Gardner completed the Hadrian’s Wall Global Adventure Challenge from June 27th to June 29th 2025, raising awareness and £1000 towards Against Breast Cancer’s research into secondary spread breast cancer.
The challenge spanned 24 miles across Northern England’s Hadrian’s Wall, a formidable route that tests even the most seasoned hikers. Katie joined a group of passionate participants for the three-day adventure, walking through historic landscapes and enduring unpredictable terrain, all in support of a cause close to her heart.
Reflecting on her Hadrian’s Wall experience, Katie shared:
“I had the most amazing time tackling Hadrian’s Wall. It was harder than I expected, but the achievement felt even better for it. Everyone involved from the guides, camp leader and participants were just fantastic! The weekend was filled with fun, laughter and teamwork the entire way.”
The challenge was organised by Global Adventure Challenges and included some fantastic highlights such as exploring Northumberland National Park, trekking through battlement scenery and having the opportunity to visit a UNESCO World Heritage site, all in one weekend!
Katie’s Hadrian’s Wall Challenge stands as a shining example of what incredible fundraising can be achieved when passion meets perseverance.
Katie’s fantastic fundraising was all down to getting started nice and early:
“I found starting early really helped to achieve my target and then it kind of snowballed from there”
Well done Katie!
