On 23rd July 2025, three of our dedicated supporters took on the unforgettable Global Adventure Challenges London to Paris Cycle, riding over 300 miles in just four days to raise vital funds for breast cancer research. Their incredible efforts raised a total of £6,717, helping to fund pioneering research into secondary spread, the main cause of breast cancer-related deaths.
The challenge began in London, with cyclists setting off through the picturesque countryside of Kent. From there, they made their way to Dover, where they crossed the English Channel to Calais. Once in France, the route continued along quiet country lanes and through traditional market towns, offering stunning views of the rolling green hills of Northern France.
Riders passed through historic regions, including the Somme, where war memorials and cemeteries served as poignant reminders of the past. The final stretch of the journey was truly spectacular, cycling around the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs-Élysées, and finishing at the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Despite the physical demands of the challenge, the sense of achievement at the finish line was unforgettable. The event not only tested endurance but also fostered camaraderie and community spirit among participants. One of our riders, Austin, had this to say:
“Cycling from London to Paris in support of Against Breast Cancer was a tremendous honour to me. The groundbreaking work and dedication to finding a cure that Against Breast Cancer does is truly astonishing. I was proud to wear their jersey on the cycle. Thank you for all that you do!”
