On Saturday 5 September, the Bat & Ball Community Centre in Sevenoaks came alive with inspiration as ten incredible women, all living with a breast cancer diagnosis, took to the catwalk for a special charity fashion show organised by Charity Angels in aid of vital breast cancer research.
Organised by the dedicated and passionate local fundraiser Steph Harrison, the uplifting event raised an outstanding £8,321.81, thanks to the generosity of supporters, sponsors and volunteers who came together to make the day such a success.
The models dazzled on the runway wearing stylish collections from local Sevenoaks businesses South of the River, Lovell & Vie, Chic et tralala, and Seasalt, showcasing not only beautiful fashion but extraordinary strength, resilience and confidence.
The event was proudly sponsored by local businesses like Manak Solicitors, Specsavers, and Bells Accountants, whose support helped make the day possible.

Lady Mary Peters with Head of Fundraising Richard Martin
Guests were also honoured by the presence of Lady Mary Peters, who spoke passionately about the importance of breast cancer awareness and early detection. Attendees heard from Richard Martin of Against Breast Cancer, who shared insights into the charity’s pioneering research collaborations with MiOnco and ABC Discover 2.
Adding to the inspiring programme, Professor Paul Skipp spoke about the groundbreaking ABC Discover 2 project in more detail and thanked everyone involved for their generosity and commitment to advancing this vital research.
Who Are Charity Angels?
Founded in 2021, Charity Angels was created by a group of dedicated fundraisers who had previously served on the fundraising committee for Breast Cancer Care’s annual London fashion show. Following the merger of Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now, the committee made the collective decision to establish an independent organisation focused on supporting smaller breast cancer charities and local initiatives.
One of their first events was the memorable “Lunch for Lesley“, held in honour of Lesley Seville, a much-loved former committee member and fashion show model who sadly passed away from secondary breast cancer in 2020. The event raised more than £50,000 for two charities, including Against Breast Cancer.
Since 2022, Charity Angels have chosen to support Against Breast Cancer exclusively, raising vital funds through an impressive programme of fashion shows in Sevenoaks and Dorchester, alongside special receptions in London and cruise events in Henley.
Making a Difference Together
The success of this latest fashion show is yet another example of the incredible impact that passionate supporters can have when they come together behind a shared cause. Every pound raised will help fund Against Breast Cancer’s research into preventing, detecting and ultimately stopping secondary spread breast cancer.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Steph Harrison, the models, sponsors, speakers, volunteers and everyone who attended or supported the event. Your generosity and determination are helping to create a future free from breast cancer.
