The Great North Run 2025 brought together tens of thousands of runners and supporters for a day filled with remarkable achievements. From personal triumphs to heartfelt dedications, the event captured the spirit of togetherness that makes it the world’s biggest half marathon.
2025 saw over 60,000 runners take on the iconic 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields, supported by over 250,000 spectators lining the streets.
Our fabulous team raised over £28,500 for Against Breast Cancer research, an amazing achievement.
Running in Memory of Carol
Ella (pictured top) was running in memory of Carol Donkin and honoured her legacy after she sadly passed away in October 2024 from Secondary Breast Cancer, just six months after her diagnosis.
Ella’s efforts were driven by the mission: “We are raising money to find a cure.”
A Run Filled Hope
Marie
For Marie, the run was deeply personal. She ran in honour of her beloved grandma, who has spent the past year battling cancer. Marie shared the joyous news that her grandma is now cancer-free, making her achievement even more meaningful. Marie not only completed her first-ever half marathon in an impressive 1 hour 55 minutes, but also smashed her fundraising target, raising an incredible £2,556 for breast cancer research.
“I still haven’t stopped smiling from the most amazing day and one to remember forever. Here’s to more fabulous memories together and a healthy recovery. I love you grandma – always.”

“My favourite part about the Great North Run has to be the crowd, the energy was electric. And to be able to run for such an amazing charity was an honour. I know my Gran would be proud.”
